Halladay came out with his game face on

Halladay stepped up to the mound last night ready to pitch a gem. He let one get away though when Chipper Jones hit a homer in the first. You could see that the Braves were in attack mode going after his first pitch. Halladay saw that to, adjusted and went for the kill. Nothing else got away from him afterwards.

The Phils got a smattering of hits but couldn’t produce a run. It looked like it was going to be one of those games– a pitchers duel. Then, in the 6th inning, Werth hits a single and Dobbs steps up to plate. Smack– he hits a homerun and scores 2 runs. Phils pull ahead 2-1

In the 8th inning, Ibanez singles, Howard singles, Werth grounded into fielders choice, Howard is out at second. Ibanez advances to 3rd.Ibanez is caught stealing by catcher in a failed squeeze play. Werth is on 2nd. Castro singles to shallow left enabling Werth to score. Phils 3-1

Halladay finishes up the 9th striking out the first hitter. Then, the Braves line out and ground out to close out the game.

Phils win 3-1 in a “must win”. It was truly a great game to watch.
